Established in 1992, SH Structures Limited has become one of the UK’s leading specialists in the design, supply, fabrication and erection of complex steel structures.
Working with some the UK’s foremost Architects, the company thrives on the fundamental challenges inherent in the building of complex structures, having brought a combination of professional expertise and craftsmanship, supported by rigorous quality and safety procedures, to numerous award-winning projects.
Listening to our customers, responding positively to their changing needs and an open collaborative approach has resulted in a steady growth of repeat business from our existing clients.
We have large and varied portfolio of projects covering most constructions sectors varying from grid shell roofs to steel footbridges and large pieces of public art.
Collaboration
Whilst traditionally operating as a specialist steel fabricator, SH Structures Limited has identified the need for a more open flexible approach to contracting. To this end, the company has developed close working relationships with a number of other specialist companies who provide items such as tensile fabric, ETFE foil, structural glazing, GRP and timber. Providing Clients with an established team of suppliers who have an understanding of each other’s specialist discipline and how the various elements interface gives a level of comfort that a more disparate group of individual sub-contractors would not necessarily be able to provide.
S H Structures Limited is committed to involvement from the earliest stages of a project, aiming to develop a supportive relationship with the client’s professional team. Assistance is provided with both, technical and budget issues and carefully considered value engineering, development of connection details and innovative erection schemes frequently provide benefits to both the construction programme and the project budget.
Design and Drafting
Our input into the design process can be to provide basic connection design through to full design and build schemes to include not only the primary steel structure but also additional interfacing elements such as glazing.
Seeing the benefit of 3-d modelling some years ago the company is now at the forefront in the use this technology during the development of steel structures. All our projects are produced using Tekla Structures software, which enables us to develop the complex shapes and forms often required by our clients, turning abstract concepts into a working reality.
